Shanghai, the largest city in China and a global financial center, is located on the central section of the Chinese coast. At its heart is the famous Bund waterfront promenade, lined with buildings dating back to the colonial era. On the opposite side of the Huangpu River rises the futuristic skyline of the Pudong district. Here, among other things, stand the 632-meter Shanghai Tower and the Oriental Pearl Tower television tower with its characteristic pink spheres. The extensive Yu Garden includes traditional pavilions, towers and ponds.
