Santa Monica is a city in western Los Angeles County in the U.S. state of California on the coast of the Pacific Ocean. It is located in Santa Monica Bay, south of Pacific Palisades, Malibu, and Brentwood, west of Westwood and Sawtelle, and north of Venice. As of 2020, the city had a population of 93,076 (2020 Census). The city is named for Monica of Tagaste, venerated as a saint in the Catholic Church.
