Morro Bay is a city in San Luis Obispo County in the U.S. state of California, United States, with a population of 10,234 as of 2010. The urban area has a size of 26.3 km². Morro Bay was founded in 1870 as a cargo port for shipping dairy and meat products.

The Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, California, is one of the largest public display aquariums in the world. Opened in 1984, the exhibit was built with a $55 million donation from David Packard on the site of a former fish factory on Cannery Row. A $57 million addition was completed in 1996. It is known for the acrylic window that allows a view into the largest aquarium. It has long been the largest window in the world, measuring 17 meters long and 5 meters high.

Cannery Row is the coastal road and tourist district of Monterey, California. It got its name from the many oil sardine factories built and operated here between 1895 and 1950. The street used to be called Ocean View Avenue, but today the nickname is official. After the collapse of the sardine fishery, the road became the tourist center of Monterey.
